Before the Big Day FAQ
Can I bring a plus one?
Invitations were printed to personally include all who are invited. If you received an inner envelope with "and guest," you have a plus one.
Is my child(ren) welcome?
Invitations were printed to personally include everyone who is invited. If your child's name was printed on the inner envelope, we would love to have them join the party. If your child was not included, please enjoy the evening with your significant other kid free and help us make memories.
I have a question about who is included in my invitation or a question about dietary restrictions for food. Who do I contact?
Michael and I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. We want to ensure that everyone has a great time celebrating the beginning of our life together. Please reach out to either of us if you have any specific questions not answered on the FAQ section.

Can I RSVP online?
Unfortunately, we opted for the old school mailed RSVP. Included in your invitation was an RSVP card and a preaddressed and postage paid envelope for you to send back. Please fill it out, stick it in the mail, and you are good to go!
The invitation said Formal Attire. What is formal attire?
Formal attire for men includes a suit and tie. If you are not a suit and tie kind of guy, please at least wear dress pants, a button up shirt, and a tie.
Formal attire for women most commonly includes a floor-length dress, sophisticated cocktail dress, or classy pantsuit.
Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?
The only color to avoid is white. Our wedding colors are pinks into beiges and browns. I know those colors are flattering on a lot of people, so you are more than welcome to join the color scheme of the evening.
Ceremony FAQ
What time should I arrive to the church?
The Coal Show Parade is going to be going on after the ceremony, so there might be some more traffic than normal in Carmichaels. The ceremony starts at 1:30pm, so we would suggest you arrive no later than 1:20pm.
Can we park in the church parking lot?
Absolutely! The parking lot belongs to the church, so you are free to park wherever you'd like.
What type of ceremony are you having?
We are having a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony. This involves a complete mass with communion.
I am not Catholic. What do I do?
Attend the ceremony! When we stand/sit/kneel, you may do whatever you feel most comfortable doing. When communion is being given, you are more than welcome to come up with your hands crossed over your chest to receive a blessing from the priest. Do not let the religion of the ceremony stop you from coming.
What do we do after the ceremony?
We expect the ceremony to conclude around 2:30. If you have been asked to stay for pictures at the church, please stay. If not, please proceed to your vehicle and make your way to Oglebay! Remember, the Coal Show parade is this day and roads will begin closing at 3:30. Cocktail hour starts at 5:00pm, and the trip from the church to Oglebay takes approximately an hour and a half.
Cocktail Hour FAQ
What do I do if I get to Oglebay before 5:00?
Cocktail hour begins at 5:00 on the lawn outside of Glessner Auditorium. If you arrive early, feel free to check in to the hotel if you are staying and freshen up! If you are not staying, check out the lodge! Oglebay recently renovated and they have some cute coffee shops, gift shops, and bars/restaurants.
Will there be hors-d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour?
Yes! We will have butlered hors-d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour as well as the bar open.
Reception FAQ
I see the menu options on the RSVP card, but can we have more detailed information?
Absolutely!
All guests will enjoy a mixed field greens salad with either ranch or Italian dressing to start and garlic smashed potatoes and a seasonal vegetable with their entree.
Entree choices are either a Free Range Chicken Breast with Herb butter or Grilled Sirloin of Beef with House Butter.
The Vegetarian Dish will be Penne Primavera.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
If you have a certain dietary restriction, please reach out to Floretta by text at 724-833-2474. She will handle everything to ensure you get whatever it is that you need.
When will dinner be served?
Introductions of the Bridal Party and Bride and Groom will take place around 6:10. You can expect dinner to be served by 6:30.
Is there an open bar?
YES! The bar will close during dinner though with wine service being available. We plan to have a party! PLEASE please please be sure to make arrangements to get home. Better yet, book yourself one of the rooms at Oglebay from the room block so you can enjoy the evening without worry.
What time will the reception end?
The reception in Glessner Auditorium officially ends at 11:00. The bar will be closing a bit earlier to allow those driving home to safely do so. Wilson Lodge has a few bars that might be open to keep the party going, or a party can continue in someone's room. As mentioned previously, we want to have a party, but we also want everyone to be safe.
